The play was reprised at the McCarter Theatre in Princeton in October and it was even more powerful to see it again after 14 years. The two actresses were channelling Bessie and Sadie and the set looked just like their actual dining room. I miss them much.

Under information about the movie this website lists Sadie and Bessie's death dates. Are the dates listed correct? The site states
Both Sadie and Bessie Delany are now deceased. They both passed away in their home in Mt. Vernon -- Sadie at 104 on September 25th, 1995 and Bessie on January 25th, 1999 at the age of 109.
I think the death dates are switched. Can someone please correct this.

This is the most inspiring movie I have ever seen. I am seeking the movie to have and be able to look at it whenever I would like to. They left a great legacy for us.

The Delany Sister's lives have so inspired me. I bought their book at a thrift store. Once I started reading this wonderful story I could not put it down. After I finished reading I searched for Miss Bessie and Miss Sadie on the computer. They had alreedy passed. What a beautiful family. What lovely ladies!
